The modern academic program is mostly under the influence of a secular worldview. From my experience learning in an Islamic university in an Islamic country, they tend to rush up to learn everything from the Islamic and secular studies as they aim to prepare a person who can solve the complexity of the modern world. But, they don’t instill the basics and grasp an Islamic worldview before approaching secular studies or Islamic studies. Therefore, their knowledge of Islam is through the lens of a modern and secular view instead of the revelation itself. That’s why most graduates tend to mix up both Islamic and secular views in their studies or work based on the limitations of the Islamic way of thinking.
