DESCRIPTION:As part of the Monthly MI Discussion Session series\, Maqasid Institute is pleased to present its August Discussion Session\, bringing together speakers to explore the rapidly evolving role of Artificial Intelligence and its implications for the future of humanity. \nArtificial Intelligence is transforming the way we live\, learn\, work\, communicate\, and make decisions. Alongside these developments come important ethical\, practical\, and human questions that call for thoughtful reflection and meaningful discussion. \nIn this August session\, we will explore key challenges surrounding AI and consider some of the essential questions humanity needs to ask as technology continues to advance. \nOur Speakers:\n\nDr. Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani: Islamic Studies Academic | Researcher | University Teacher PhD in Islamic Thought and Civilization from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)\, with more than twenty years of teaching\, research and academic leadership experience. Published 19 peer-reviewed research papers including Scopusindexed publications\, supervised forty MPhil theses\, authored four books\, and actively participated in international research collaborations. Research interests include Islamic Thought\, Seerah Studies\, Interfaith Relations\, Contemporary Islamic Issues.\nSr. Syeda Hajra:  Counselling Psychologist at the Department of Mind and Behavioral Therapy\, Shifaa Hospital\, Bangalore. With experience in evidence-based counselling and psychological research\, she combines clinical insights with academic inquiry to explore human behaviour and mental well-being. Her professional interests include the psychological implications of artificial intelligence and the integration of Islamic psychology concepts with contemporary psychological science\, with a focus on cognition\, reflection\, emotional health\, and holistic human development.\nDr. Humna Khalid: MPhil Clinical Psychologist and an Associate Clinical Psychologist at ShifaWorks\, a faith-integrated mental health practice committed to providing culturally and spiritually sensitive psychological care.
